U.S. Department of Energy
As part of the DOE Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO), Norwich Technologies has been awarded several grants to develop its next-generation SunTrap™ solar field and HeatTrapTM thermal storage for Concentrating Solar Power (CSP). CSP has the advantage of built-in storage, allowing for truly dispatchable solar power. The SunTrap distributed-scale concentrating solar power system incorporating our HeatTrap long duration, low-cost storage system allows for a solar system capable of 24/7 operation.

National Science Foundation
As part of the NSF SBIR program, Norwich Technologies, with researchers at the Thayer School of Engineering, was awarded a grant to develop a novel solar selective absorber coating and demonstrate a simple, cost-effective method for applying it to our receiver tubes. Our SunTrap™ receiver for parabolic trough CSP systems has the potential to dramatically improve performance while substantially reducing acquisition operation and maintenance (O&M) costs.
